Recently I had a request to put out a "cute" picture of Jalen. This inspired a lot of thought. According to Wikipedia, infantile personality traits, such as playfulness, fragility, helplessness, curiosity, innocence, affectionate behavior and a need to be nurtured are generally considered cute. With my new understanding of what cute is, I realized that over time I unintentionally, but quite consciously, started posting pictures of Jalen that fell outside of the cute norm. I am now aware that I've been trying way too hard to portray Jalen as this smart, cool, strong, good-looking and vivacious baby (even though he is). But with the help of a passing airplane (Jalen loves to watch and follow flying planes), I took a cute photo.

How are you? I miss your little face and adorable laugh, although I image you have grown to a weight much heavier than my arms can handle. I hope you are enjoying watching airplanes and admiring the beautiful blue sky because life doesn't get more simple.
